Beef Tongue is a muscle meat with a wider nutrient profile than steaks! Beef tongue has a vast array of vitamins and minerals including iron, zinc, choline, and B vitamins including B2, B3, B6 and B12. Your meal possibilities are endless with varying to Mexican cuisine such as tacos to an open-faced philly style sandwich and everything in between! 

Each tongue is roughly 1.5-2.5 Pounds.

To prepare the tongue, you may bring the meat to a boil in a stockpot with your favorite herbs (basil, thyme, garlic, salt, and pepper) and enough water to cover the tongue. Then simmer for 1.5-2 hours, adding water if needed. Another option would be to cook the tongue in the crockpot on low heat for 6-8 hours, prepared as listed above with water and herbs. Once cooked, peel off the outermembrane, slice, season, and enjoy in your favorite taco or philly dish for a nutrient dense delicacy!
